At Media Academy Cymru (MAC), BTEC courses are delivered in a relaxed, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere. Our courses are a bespoke alternative to mainstream education for students 16-25 who are unable to access similar opportunities elsewhere, are at risk of social exclusion, and are not in education, training, or employment.
At MAC you will gain recognised qualifications in creative subjects such as Filmmaking, Game Development, Photography, and Media, while also developing social and employability skills through a sensitive support programme that focuses on individual learners and their needs.

“I found MAC through the Prince’s Trust and joined their 12-week filmmaking course. I was looking to gain some structure in my daily life, to pick up media skills, and to explore a new creative outlet. What I actually got was all these things and more. The tutoring staff were amazing and made every effort to accommodate any needs, preferences, or just quirks! They treated me like an adult, with respect, and enabled me to feel in control of my learning and goals. It was great to be in a small setting whereas large college environments can seem inaccessible. There was a clear ethos of ‘come as you are’ and I felt able to turn up no matter what was going on at home. Thanks for having me :-)”
Young Person, 2021

“I didn’t feel like I could be myself anywhere else in education, but here I could really show my full potential and tutors really helped with that.”
Young People, 2020
“Being allowed to explore and create has given me real confidence over my time at MAC. I feel like I’ve really found a clear sense of what I want to do with my life thanks to the tutors here.”
