Education & Training

All of our courses are delivered in a relaxed, inclusive and encouraging atmosphere. Our courses are a bespoke alternative to mainstream education for students 16-25 who are unable to access similar opportunities elsewhere, are at risk of social exclusion, and are not in education, training or employment.

At MAC you will gain recognised qualifications (BTEC Level 1) while also developing social and employability skills through a sensitive support program that focuses on individual learners and their needs.

On completing any of our courses, MAC offers a pathway to further education in partnership with Cardiff and Vale College.

We have some new and exciting free courses starting at MAC from February – March 2023

1. Digital Photography (BTEC Level 1) Barry Campus – MAC on Track – Digital Photography – Cardiff and Vale College (cavc.ac.uk)

2. Documentary Film Making (BTEC Level 2) Cardiff – MAC on Track – Documentary Film Making – Cardiff and Vale (cavc.ac.uk)

This course will be taught by award winning documentary filmmaker, Jay Bedwani

3. Game Design (BTEC Level 1) Cardiff – Mac on Track – An Introduction to Game Design – Cardiff and Vale College (cavc.ac.uk)

“I love the fact that our tutors are experts and teach from their first hand experience”

“If it wasn’t for MAC, I would have had to put my studying on hold. I prefer being in a smaller space away from the hustle and bustle.”

“I have learned loads at MAC and my confidence has really grown. There is always someone to talk to and everyone is really friendly. I love it here.”

“I found MAC through the Prince’s Trust and joined their 12-week filmmaking course. I was looking to gain some structure in my daily life, to pick up media skills, and to explore a new creative outlet. What I actually got was all these things and more. The tutoring staff were amazing and made every effort to accommodate any needs, preferences, or just quirks! They treated me like an adult, with respect, and enabled me to feel in control of my learning and goals. It was great to be in a small setting whereas large college environments can seem inaccessible. There was a clear ethos of ‘come as you are’ and I felt able to turn up no matter what was going on at home. Thanks for having me :-)”
